Who is Gina Kessler?

Gina Spiro Kessler is known for her heartfelt style, which is a mix of many kinds of rock, her favorite genre. Influenced by so many, including Todd Rundgren,Joni Mitchell, Peter Gabriel, Jackson Browne,The Beatles, Sheryl Crow, James Taylor, , CSN&Y, Carole King and Journey. Her voice has been likened to everyone from Janis Joplin to Patsy Cline, in fact her gut wrenching performance of Me and Bobby McGee, is always a crowd favorite...

Gina was born and raised in Sheboygan Wisconsin and started performing from the time she was 6 years old. She was lucky enough to sit in and sing with many great local musicians and bands, including Jerry Messner, Jim Oldschmidt and Bruce King , the various greats of The Buffalo Joe Band and Joel and John Kuether, who founded Loose Ends. She owes a bunch to her first band, Rockport, with the talent of John Truttschel, Kevin Ruppel, John Wroble, David Hassler and Bob Welsch, a fun hard-working group that made her realize that singing and performing was something she would do the rest of her life...

She left Wisconsin in 1979, touring the country as a solo act ,starting in Florida and heading to the East Coast. She returned to Milwaukee, and joined a touring band from Chicago and Milwaukee called "Kidder". This band gave her the chance to play her all time favorite music festival in Wisconsin, Summerfest, opening for Marshall Tucker to a crowd of 10,000 people. After touring with Kidder and her duo "Class A" around the country for 2 years, she eventually settled into Los Angeles in the mid 80's, playing with many local bands, including Dynamo Hum and Mark Pont, at venues such as Madame Wongs, Gazzaris, The Mint, The House of Blues and The Key Club. During this time, she also worked as a music and sound assistant for tv and film, with credits on movies such as "U2:Rattle and Hum", "Total Recall" and "Dances with Wolves"...

After leaving LA in 1997 for South Orange County, she met up with many great musicians and she currently sings with Martin Gerschwitz as a duo and in his various bands, with The Kings of Classic Rock, (ex Animals and Spocks Beard bass player Dave Meros, ex Animals guitar player Dean Restum, ex Cock Robin and Tubes drummer, Lou Molino III, and Martin Gerschwitz, ex Animals, Lita Ford, Meat loaf, Walter Trout and and current Iron Butterfly keyboard player. David Tyson of First Rodeo is the rockin current vocalist.) The Ravers, Stan O'Kane (guitar) Ray Weston (drummer) of Tom Jones and Wishbone Ash, L'angelo Di SIlva (bass) and Martin on keyboards. Gina also has the good fortune to sing with other local bands and musicians in the Orange County area.

In 2007, Gina released her first CD "Let it Begin", which was produced by Anthony Terrezza.. The CD has 2 original songs co-written by Anthony and includes covers of classic rock artists such as Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac and Janis Joplin.

The local guys and gals she gets to share the stage with, keep her on her toes, making sure she has fun, as well as joining in to rock the house!! Please check out all their Facebook/MySpace Pages, and support these bands/musicians, because without them, Gina is a dull girl:)!!

Currently she sings with Martin Gerschwitz, The Kings of Classic Rock, and subs for Different Drum Band. She has also been sighted crashing gigs from CA to WI.
